These programs provide housing and supportive case management services to young adults between the ages of 17 and 21 who are under the guardianship of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services DCFS. The TLP sites are located on the north and south side of Chicago and in the south suburbs. These programs make every effort to teach the young adults to become self-reliant while transitioning to Independent Living by teaching them the basics of cooking, budgeting, employment, academics and housekeeping as well as developing their social skills, while addressing their spiritual and legal needs. Young adults may reside in a congregate setting, single or double apartments.

In each program we offer, participants build deep relationships with one another as well as our staff that continue to positively impact their lives long after they move on from our programs. More than just a safe place to stay, Ignite utilizes a comprehensive model with supportive services and action plans to ensure youth are on a path that includes personal and economic growth. We believe youth homelessness is too often invisible. Whether through direct street outreach or enagement in schools or with community partners, Ignite rises up to connect with youth experiencing homelessness that may not find us. Youth can still receive our support after exiting our programs to ensure a smooth transition back into the community, helping Ignite be the last program our youth will ever need.
